Certifications

Dr. Althar takes pride in his ongoing commitment to further education. Building on his 25 years of general surgery experience and 17 years of laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Althar is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Althar is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric surgery and has been performing weight loss surgery since 2002.

Dr. Althar has given many educational programs to local and regional Health Care Professionals. Additionally, he has published articles in surgical journals.
